Participants and parents must follow specific health and safety guidelines
The YMCA of Metro Atlanta today announced registration is open at select branches for fall youth sports with the addition of health and safety guidelines set forth by The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, state and local governments and national and state sport governing bodies.
Specific guidelines include pre-screening check-in questionnaires regarding symptoms and exposure and temperature checks upon arrival at practices and games. Additionally, hand sanitation, social distancing and mask-wearing will be enforced for coaches, staff and indoor spectators, and strongly recommended for outdoor spectators.
“Youth sports are a cornerstone of what we do to support our communities,” said Lauren Koontz, president and CEO of YMCA of Metro Atlanta. “We have always been committed to the health and well-being of our members, and these guidelines will allow our young athletes to pursue their goals while staying safe.”
