Juneteenth Celebration

Forsyth County Family YMCA invites our entire community to come together and celebrate Juneteenth, which is the oldest nationally recognized commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. Although Emancipation Proclamation signed on January 1st, 1863 gave freedom to all enslaved individuals, it took two and half years for slaves in the state of Texas to be told of their freedom.

 

Bring your family to the Y for a memorable evening filled with history, heritage, music, and food. Excited to feature minority owned businesses including food trucks!
